Say goodbye to fears

Dear readers, I would like to share a short post with you about fears. Please, remember that this post reflects my personal thoughts and they don’t tend to tell the truth about everything and everybody. I just want to share my ideas with you, and I hope that they inspire you to think about your life and our world and its lovely people. American psychologist, William James wrote in his essay ”Is Life Worth Living?”: ”Be not afraid of life. Believe that life is worth living, and your belief will help create the fact.” He is right but sometimes its much easier to say than to act. In spite of that, idealism exists and it can bloom with flowers and leaves of a better life. Everything depends on us, on you. Why are we afraid of life? In our every day routine life, in everything of this hectic life, everybody seems to be doing something very ’important’, and everything looks nice, well maked-up and beautiful. We try to give a charming and appropriate image of …

Lost Beauty

“Many eyes go through the meadow, but few see the flowers in it.” (Ralph Waldo Emerson) I am writing this post on my flight from Rome to Helsinki. While being in Rome, I was pondering about beauty, maybe as Jep Gambardella in Paolo Sorrentino’s film La Grande Bellezza. We have many values which construct our ”directions” in our lives. One likes driving a car, another ”travelling” every day by feet; in a same way, for one lying is a natural part of his everyday life, for another lying is the last choice and a sign of ”state of emergency”. These many values from gratitude to faith are creating personal moral paths. One of the most interesting and captivating realities is that each person has his own understanding for example of hope, faith, love and wisdom. Beauty is also an inseparable part of our self-awareness and consciousness. All this sounds very nice but in reality there are some tricky aspects in our understanding of the beauty. Our social systems and media give us very often, I could …

Let’s laugh more!

Dear readers, I would like to wish you a magnificent new year full of joy, happiness, ideas and dreams that will come through, and especially sincere love. I was pondering what would be my first post in 2015. About what should I write? There are many fascinating objects and themes on our planet earth that could be equally interesting and charming. But before writing something, I knew all the time that there is some very special subject to write about. I had just to ”find” it. You know that to find inspiration is not always such an easy task, and almost perpetually we find our inspiration and even ingenious ideas accidentally. They come from nowhere. I believe that probably we shouldn’t wait something in a too concentrated way – ”Yes, man, I want that gorgeous yellow Lamborghini…I want be famous…I want that my husband would be like Brad Pitt…I want to be rich and happy…I want beautiful and talented kids…” I mean that while waiting and wanting too much, we won’t get anything. I have …

In Search of Lost Beauty

Paolo Sorrentino’s La Grande Bellezza is a poem about human being’s spiritual evolution and a meditation about solitude of the exceptional people. Russian poet Fyodor Tyutchev has stated a long time ago that Russia can not be understood rationally and grasped with the mind. I have to reject the poet’s privilegy given to Russia by saying that also Italy and especially the film The Great Beauty directed by Paolo Sorrentino can not be understood rationally as well. Even at the 71st annual Golden Globe awards Sorrentino confessed firmly and shortly that Italia is a crazy but a beautiful country. In many circumstances identified as a new La Dolce Vita, Sorrentino’s masterpiece continues, without any doubt, the Italian cinematographic tradition of the 19th century, the tradition of Italian directors such as Fellini, Rossellini, Antonioni, Scola and Blasetti to name a few, and their visions of “universes” with strong emotions, gaps of life and absurdic tension of love and death. Only one truth is incontestable – each person, each spectator finds own truth, his or her own …

The Art of Love

My dear readers, I would like to share with you a little post about love. Maybe it is good that I am not telling very much about such a mystical and magical power, called love because maybe no one is able to tell all about this eternal entity. We all, we have had without any doubt moments in our life when we have hated and loved someone or something. It is a natural part of our existence. We are people, and we have emotions. In spite of that, in my opinion, we should controllate our emotions or find a sort of moderation in our everyday life. These two forces – hating and loving have different kind of functions: when we hate, we destruct, and when we love, we create and co-create. Theoretically, we understand the difference between two emotions, but pragmatically, it is sometimes very difficult to separate them. I mean that loving and hating are close to each other, which is sad. When many people stop loving, they sometimes replace love by hate. I …

Letters of past and present

We are living in complex and interesting times. Probably everything happens on internet, via all kind of digital networks without any physical trace and even history. Each day we deal with computers, smart phones, pads; with hundreds of e-mails, posts, tags, likes and comments. Nearly each person (exceptionally not in many developing countries) have a right to decide what to read, look at, watch, accept, refuse etc. We change history: we have a right to delete for example concrete messages from our inboxes. When someone has deleted a message, there is no more any footprint of it in our reality. Maybe it is nevertheless still airing in the complex corridors of digital world, but you can not grab it anymore. New era of digitalisation has many useful and helpful aspects in resolving problems and even in democratisation of knowledge. We have more liaisons with other people than before, but on the other hand the essence of our communication has become more faceless and fragmented. Sometimes we write even without any reason, any consideration, just for …

Have a fun

There is lot of people who want to live in big cities, in vast metropolies; to catch a kind of romanticism of modern, industrial, technical, but often artificial life. I have met the many who sincerely hate big cities, but work and live there for money. It’s all about the money, someone could say. Sometimes yes, but sometimes not. The many play againts their own will, and are ready even for various sacrifices to lost or forget their will, their authentic will of what they want definitely to do. Time has become a luxury. Although there are many well-known brands of high-end, such as brown hand bags with nicely crafted initials LV and a magical little phone from Silicon Valley that blows everyone’s mind even in a such way that someone is able to forget his name, the most important and valuable but forgotten brand is time. We can not sell it, buy it and handle it, even conquer it. It is in the air all time and leads circumstances of our life; our mind, …
